5 Variables, Hypotheses, and Propositions

Independent and Dependent Variables Independent variable in cooking - the ingredients you change to alter a recipe. Dependent variable is how the food tastes. Simple example: Milk or juice added to cereal. Milk or juice is the independent variable that you are manipulating. How it tastes is the dependent variable that you are measuring.

Outcome variable - dependent variable, quantitative result of the study.

Null hypothesis -

H-nought H_0 - null hypothesis - reject or fail to reject the null hypothesis.
