Critical analysis of research, as in critical theory, accuses researchers of the following things:
- Question of reality - does something really exist
- Question of Communication - does everyone agree that that means what the researcher says it means?
- Question of Values - never objective, always socially constructed
- Question of unstated assumptions - not just values, but what other assumptions were there?
- Question of societal consequences - research serves politically conservative or oppressive ends.
