I want your help creating a syllabus for EDUC 7310: Integrating Technology in Learning for Educational Practitioners.
This is a 4 week asynchronous course. so there will be 4 modules, labeled as weeks 1-4 below.
The Textbook is https://teachersguidetotech.com by Jennifer Gonzalez of Cult Of Pedagogy. Students will use this as a reference and they are not expected to read the whole thing.
Each week they will research a tech tool for teachers, and read/watch something about a philosophical approach to tech tools.
Your purpose in this course is to publish something short form: a podcast, youtube video, blog, a thread, instagram/tiktok video, linkedin post, or something else about your chosen topic that you actually care about.
Your resulting project should be less than 5 minutes (if it’s writing, it should be between 1000-2000 words).
The tools you use to create your final project should be essentially invisible to the person viewing your project.
For example, if you are writing, it doesn’t matter if you use Google Docs, Word, or Apple Notes. What matters is that you are publishing something. Turning in the final project will consist of submitting a link to the published work (or in the case of the podcast that you submitted the podcast recording, as you won’t have control of the publish date of that.)

Week 4: Publishing & Final Project: Hit Send!
Getting your voice out there beyond the walls of your school is important. Want to be anonymous? Read this: https://sive.rs/anon Why you should start a blog? https://simonwillison.net/2022/Nov/6/what-to-blog-about/ Besides Academic Publishing, regular publishing is beneficial.
You have something that you are passionate about; something that you are doing your dissertation on. That’s your topic. If you post about technology you’ve learned in this class, you’ve missed the point! The technology should be an invisible layer to your audience.
If you have your own publishing channels, you may use them.
If you would like to publish a podcast, you may follow the submission guidelines here for the Morning Motivation for Educators podcast.
Your submission to Canvas will be a short document with a link to what you published.
If you would like to submit to a new magazine called Learning Futures, you can email your submission to Charles Sosnik, the editor of that magazine.
Some helpful tips:
- Create something that is meaningful for you.
- Do not state that you are doing this for a class. Just share something you care about.
- The goal is not perfection, but publication. Your voice matters and it is vital for the world to hear it.
