Making Education Really Count

I’m working on my doctorate at the University of Missouri - St. Louis.

One of the things that I hate about Education is having our audience for whatever we create be our professor or teacher.

So I am creating this site to house all the content I create for someone besides my professor. I want my work to be out there. Even if nobody reads it, publishing it makes it real for me.

Much of this is as disorganized as my mind.

But I still think it is important to share it. I’ll update this as time goes on.

You’ll find several different types of writing here.

Notes

These are files where I’m taking notes during class. Bulleted lists. Little organization. This is super messy. It’s going to be random, but hopefully some organization will emerge over time.

Also, notes are linked to each other as you can see below with the class lists.

Readings

These are my notes from readings. I take my notes while reading in Readwise Reader, almost exclusively. I like reading it there because it allows me to read all my stuff in the same place, and then it imports all my notes automatically into Obsidian, which is where I write ALL my notes!

Assignments

These are all my assignments for my classes. Originally, I thought that I would just publish these, but I decided that it would be more beneficial to share the messy stuff as well.

Broken Links

If you run into a broken link, it’s likely because that link is going to another note, but it isn’t published.

That’s probably intentional.

For example, I take notes on people that I work with, to remind me of what we talk about, what we are focused on, and as a way to keep track of where I’m going with them. I don’t publish those.
